English in primary school vs natural learning

15 October 2019 · by Andreas Hanny, MBA, Founder

Dear blog readers,

An interesting report from diePresse compares English in primary school with natural English language acquisition outside school. It cites studies suggesting that teaching children English at primary school in the conventional way – through the typical school system of learning vocabulary and cramming grammar – offers little benefit. This is probably also why only ½ to 1 hour a week is devoted to English in Austrian primary schools.

However, it also clearly highlights that natural language acquisition – as we practise it at Native4kids with our English Native Coaches – really does help little ones progress and gives them a definite advantage.
