Here we answer the most frequently asked questions Questions to us

At what age does it make sense at all?

Basically, you can say it's never too early. Just as a baby already listens and familiarizes itself with the sounds of language, even though it cannot yet speak, it is also the same with the second language. Sooner or later, the baby will begin to imitate the sounds and then form the first words. In the native language, but also in English!

My son / daughter goes to a bilingual kindergarten anyway, isn't that enough?

A bilingual kindergarten is certainly a good support. The difference is that there is only one native speaker used for many children. As a result, even if the native speaker speaks English with the children, they answer in German, and the children also speak German among themselves.

What is the difference to English lessons in groups, as they are often offered?

In groups, the natural concept is usually not followed, but lessons similar to those in school with vocabulary and grammar, etc. – the children may also speak German among themselves. As an alternative, we offer play lessons in small groups. Your child can experience English together with his friends (maximum 3 children) - ask us about it!

What happens if my child doesn't understand the coach?

This will happen often, especially at the beginning. It works the same way as with a baby – at some point it will understand. The natural process is to listen – repeat – store – understand. Our coach only speaks the target language with the child, never the child's native language. This way we avoid that the communication takes place in 2 languages. Further information can be found in our BLOG

What happens if the employee at the zoo does not speak English, how are tickets purchased if the coach does not speak German?

A way will be found somehow - most of the time, the employees at the checkout speak enough English. Ideally, your son / daughter can already translate. However, the coach will still not speak German. Not with the child, not with you, not with other people – at least not as long as your child is present. It is important to adhere to the principle of the caregiver – our coach is always clearly associated with English,

Why doesn't the coach speak German, even if he/she could?

Your child must have the impression that he or she can only converse with the coach in English. As soon as it realizes that it can also succeed with German, it would choose the path of least resistance, and thus use German again and again. This would drastically reduce learning success. See also the 1 and 1 rule! However, most of our coaches really don't speak German (yet).

What are the advantages of multilingual education?

Children who grow up with two or more languages can master these languages throughout their lives as well as native speakers who grow up with only one language, or at least communicate at a very high level.

Bilingual children gain an excellent feeling for languages and at the same time understand that a language is only a means to an end of communication.

Bilingual children usually have advantages in learning other languages at a later stage.

Children who enjoy a multilingual education can transfer information from one language to another, whether to expand their vocabulary or to better understand grammatical structures.

The children, who grow up with many languages, have a better sense of cultural differences and peculiarities of the global world.

What happens if my child falls ill and cannot attend the weekly session?

If you inform us of the illness at least 24 hours before the next scheduled appointment, the session can be postponed free of charge. We can then simply make up for it in one of the next weeks. A postponement with less than 24 hours' notice is not possible for organisational reasons.

What happens during holidays?

If you or the coach are on vacation, we can bring units forward or push them back. In summer, for example, a whole month can be postponed, and made up for in one week. Your child would then have a private summer camp, so to speak. Individual arrangements are of course always possible!

How much does an English afternoon per week cost approximately?

This depends on several factors (place of residence, duration, frequency, number of children, etc.). We employ and pay our employees fairly and also register them properly, pay taxes and ensure that your child is well and safely cared for. You can expect a price starting at around EUR 500 per month if you want your child to be effectively cared for once a week.
